Re-Entry Care Coordination

Through a grant from the Kansas Department of Corrections, Heartland RADAC provides services to individuals who are releasing from state correctional facilities and returning to Wyandotte, Johnson or Shawnee counties in Kansas.

Services are initiated, “behind the wall” while the client is incarcerated, and begin with a clinical assessment, pre-treatment groups, and connection to services in the community upon release.

Substance Abuse Program (SAP)
Heartland RADAC provides the University of Cincinnati’s Substance Abuse Program to the following correctional facilities in the state of Kansas: Lansing Correctional, Ellsworth Correctional, Norton Correctional, and Topeka Correctional. The SAP program is a 39 session cognitive behavioral based program that focuses on thoughts, feelings, actions, and the positive/negative consequences different situations. Once the participants graduate, they receive a certificate of completion.

Substance Abuse Recovery Program (SARP)
Heartland RADAC provides a Substance Abuse Recovery Program (SARP) to women in the Topeka Correctional Facility (TCF). This program is a comprehensive program that integrates substance abuse treatment with issues of trauma.

Adult Intensive Re-Entry (AIR)

Recovery Support Specialists are available to clients in the following facilities: Lansing Correctional Facility, Topeka Correctional Facility, Larned Correctional Facility and Ellsworth Correctional Facility. The Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) provides advocacy and support to individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) who are receiving services through Heartland Regional Alcohol and Drug Assessment Center (HRADAC). The primary purpose is to help bridge the gap between professional treatment and sustainable recovery and to help individuals begin, maintain, and improve the quality of individual and family recovery.
