Service Delivery By Heartland RADAC During COVID

Heartland RADAC continues to serve clients while maintaining effective health and safety protocols for both clients and staff.

Heartland RADAC requests that all clients and staff practice safe social distancing recommendations while engaged in services.  All local mandates by local county or municipality health departments, will also be followed. Masks are recommended for any in-person contact, especially if you have not been vaccinated.

In-person Assessments, Case Management, Peer/Recovery Coaching, and Treatment are available.  Phone, and video appointments are available on a limited basis, dependent on client access to a phone or computer.  We are now required to get signatures on releases, as the state of emergency waiver which allowed verbal consent has expired.  Signatures can be obtained via DocuSign, if you have access to a cell phone or email, or you can download the forms from the Release Forms & Notifications link at the bottom of this page.

Please call us at 913-789-0951 or 1-800-281-0029 to schedule an assessment.

Schedulers will ask you a series of questions to determine your eligibility and the type of service (in-person, phone, or video) which will best meet your individual needs.

Make the Small Things Count

Ever notice how something small can sometimes end up turning around a crummy day? So when it comes to altruistic endeavors, you don’t have to take on a huge project to make a difference. There are opportunities in your everyday routine where you can make another’s day. Here are some everyday tasks that you can do to show those around you that you care. Remember that even the smallest activities can have a huge impact on the lives of others, and you have the power to make them happen every single day.

Call a Friend Just to Chat
We all get wrapped up in our lives, but you never know how much it means to your friends or neighbors when you want to hear about what is going on in their lives. Take a few minutes to call somebody that you haven’t caught up with in awhile, and listen to the things that have been going on in their lives. They’ll be thankful that you care about them, and it’ll help strengthen the connection that you’ve already established.

Tell Someone Why They Matter
Oftentimes we take for granted the things about people in our lives that make them special to us. Take time to think about what you admire in the people that are special to you. Then let them know. We all feel underappreciated sometimes, and think about how much it would mean to them if you told them what made them so special to you. You’ll be glad you did.

Give a Small Surprise
Maybe it’s just an ordinary day, but you feel like there’s something to celebrate. Stop by a convenience store before work and pick up your coworker’s favorite drink. Tell them you’re celebrating that it’s Tuesday, or any other day of the week. They’ll appreciate the small surprise that they didn’t know was coming. You could even make one day of the week a tradition to celebrate so that you both look forward to coming into the office on those days. There are a variety of other small gifts you could surprise a coworker or friend with that will cost you little to no money. Make sure you listen to what they like, and you’ll have no problem thinking of an idea.

Leave a Note
Surprise somebody special in your life with a handwritten note. We often send emails, text messages or other electronic messages. There’s just something about an old-fashioned, handwritten letter that shows somebody you spent time to write out a special message. They will appreciate your time and effort spent on it.

Beautiful things grow when we work together for good.
