Service Delivery By Heartland RADAC During COVID

Heartland RADAC continues to serve clients while maintaining effective health and safety protocols for both clients and staff. 

Heartland RADAC requests that all clients and staff practice safe social distancing recommendations while engaged in services.  All local mandates by local county or municipality health departments, will also be followed. Masks are recommended for any in-person contact, especially if you have not been vaccinated.

In-person Assessments, Case Management, Peer/Recovery Coaching, and Treatment are available.  Phone, and video appointments are available on a limited basis, dependent on client access to a phone or computer.  We are now required to get signatures on releases, as the state of emergency waiver which allowed verbal consent has expired.  Signatures can be obtained via DocuSign, if you have access to a cell phone or email, or you can download the forms from the Release Forms & Notifications link at the bottom of this page.

Put Some Spring Into Your Cleaning

The crisp, morning air is filled with the sounds of birds chirping, alerting us to the dawn of a new season. But with all of the perks of the spring season comes the dreaded arrival of spring cleaning. But it doesn’t have to be all bad. Instead of loathing your experience, you can turn your spring cleaning into a fun event for you and your community. This year, turn your spring cleaning into a giving event. It’s so easy, you and your community will want to make this an annual tradition.

Another Man’s Treasure
As a rule of thumb, if you haven’t used something in a year, chances are you may never use it again and it will continue to collect dust and take up space in the depths of your closet. But that doesn’t mean you should automatically label it as trash. As the saying goes, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” You’ll feel better about parting with some of those items you once treasured by keeping in mind that somebody who really needs them can use your unwanted items. Besides, that old dresser isn’t doing any good collecting dust in your basement, and neither are the clothes inside them.

Break Down the Fence
While it may be true that you don’t want to literally break down the fence separating your home from your neighbors, spring cleaning is a great opportunity to break down any communication barriers you may be having. Put a spring in your neighbor’s step by offering to help with their cleaning this year. It’s something that many dread, and your neighbors will be floored when they hear that you want to help. Plus it will give you a chance to bond with your neighbors that you might not have known as well.

Sell It For Good
Sure, when you sell items you usually give them away for good. But you might not always give them away for a good cause. By holding a garage sale or auction, now you can. Round up all of your items that you don’t use anymore and get the members of your community to do the same. Come up with a date to hold a huge garage sale or auction within the community. You can take the money from that sale and use it give away to an organization of your choice. Or, maybe there is a project that your community would really like to do in order to improve the neighborhood. Your community could also decide as a whole to use the money to better the community by putting the money toward that project.
