Put Some Pep in Employees’ Steps

The success of a company can only be as great as the employees it possesses. You probably know that the attitude in the office atmosphere can make or break the workplace success. The month of March is employee spirit month. So why not evaluate how you can boost morale in the office and get those spirits soaring. You’ll notice a difference in the way your employees both interact with each other and your customers. Try some of these ideas to boost employee spirits.

Reap the Rewards
Playful competition is always a great way to boost spirits in the office. You can either start a competition yourself or make a suggestion to your boss to get some ideas rolling. The reward for winning doesn’t have to be something of value, although it is nice to show your employees or coworkers that you appreciate their efforts. Likewise, your competition could be work related, such as who can get the most new customer referrals. Or, for an even more fun spirit booster, do something totally unrelated to the workplace. It could be a sport competition, a cook-off or even a multiple category event, like an office Olympics. Don’t be afraid to get creative. Your employees will feel great about their work environment and you’ll notice high spirits in the workplace after a friendly competition.

Time For Team Bonding
In order to boost employee spirits, it is important to give them something to feel good about. Consider taking a day off work with all of your employees to lend a hand back in your community. Maybe your company is tied to a philanthropic organization. Your team could spend a day lending their talents there. If your company doesn’t support a specific organization, use this time as an educational opportunity. Have each employee pick a different place to volunteer at each month with the rest of the team. Not only will it help educate everybody about a new organization, your employees will bond over the time they are spending helping others. The experience will give the employees a unique environment so they can make different connections with their fellow employees.

Something to Work Toward
Many times, companies will give to a nonprofit organization through a matching program, where the company donates an amount to any organization of an employee’s choosing. If your office doesn’t have a system like this in place, there’s no harm in asking your boss to see if they would be on board to set something up. This makes it easier for a company to set their donation policies as it’s guided through employees. Employees will not only be making a difference for a nonprofit organization, but they will also have high spirits in the workplace knowing that they’re making a difference.

Beautiful things grow when we work together for good.
