Heartland RADAC requests that all clients and staff practice safe social distancing recommendations while engaged in services.  All local mandates by local county or municipality health departments, will also be followed. Masks are recommended for any in-person contact, especially if you have not been vaccinated.

In-person Assessments, Case Management, Peer/Recovery Coaching, and Treatment are available.  Phone, and video appointments are available on a limited basis, dependent on client access to a phone or computer.  We are now required to get signatures on releases, as the state of emergency waiver which allowed verbal consent has expired.  Signatures can be obtained via DocuSign, if you have access to a cell phone or email, or you can download the forms from the Release Forms & Notifications link at the bottom of this page.

Please call us at 913-789-0951 or 1-800-281-0029 to schedule an assessment.

Schedulers will ask you a series of questions to determine your eligibility and the type of service (in-person, phone, or video) which will best meet your individual needs.

How to Be an Advocate for Your Favorite Cause

There comes a point where you go from being simply a bystander to a full-on advocate for a cause. Can you pinpoint when it happened for you?

Maybe you don’t have a cause that stands out that much yet. No worries—there are easy steps you can take to jump behind a cause or an organization that you love. When you become an advocate, magical things happen for the organization, and for you!

Walk the Walk
First, in order to be an advocate, you need to find a cause that you love. Find something that you can get behind and that you’re truly passionate about. Maybe that means an organization comes to mind right away and you know what you want to advocate for. Or, maybe you haven’t found the cause you love yet.

Consider what you’re passionate about. These days, there’s a cause supporting just about anything. Trust us, it probably exists. Immerse yourself in that cause. If you’re passionate about it, it’ll seem effortless to back that cause.

Wear the Brand
One of the easiest ways to get people asking questions is to wear a shirt or article of clothing that has the name of the organization or cause on it. People are curious, and they will ask what your shirt means or what the organization does.

If the cause or organization you love doesn’t have any wearable branding, now is a great time to try to get it made. If you can drum up enough interest from other advocates, the organization will most likely be behind your efforts to help raise awareness.

Talk About It
Humans are interesting creatures. Sometimes, we don’t think about doing the most simple things that can make the most difference. This step is crucial and simple—talk about the cause. Tell your friends, tell your neighbors or tell random strangers.

Starting a conversation is a simple way to bring awareness to a cause. Many times, people simply don’t know you’re passionate about something. How are they supposed to know if you don’t tell them? Make sure you’re armed with the right information so you’re portraying the cause and organization in the best light.

It’s magical to really live through and advocate for a cause. Don’t let fear hold you back from making a positive impact on this world. Jump into advocating for a cause you’re passionate about today.

Beautiful things grow when we work together for good.
