History of Heartland RADAC

Heartland Regional Alcohol & Drug Assessment Center (Heartland RADAC) is a private, 501(c) 3, non-profit organization, incorporated in 1998 as a licensed alcohol and drug treatment program that provides assessment & referral services as well as care coordination & case management services for individuals seeking substance abuse services.

Prior to the incorporation of Heartland RADAC as an independent agency, it was the Assessment Center for Chemically Dependent Individuals within Bethany Medical Center of Kansas City, KS. It is because of this long history that Heartland RADAC clearly understands the implications of the progressive disease of alcohol and drug dependency as well as the financial burden it imposes on communities.

Since its inception, Heartland RADAC’s role in the substance abuse service sector has evolved from solely providing substance abuse assessments and screening, to an organization that serves as a central point of entry, facilitating access to treatment services while also assisting individuals, families and communities in the process of recovery.

In addition to providing substance abuse assessments and referrals to treatment, Heartland RADAC provides pre-treatment care coordination to individuals waiting to access recovery services to keep them engaged and motivated until they are able to access needed services.

Substance abuse care coordination and case management services are available to coordinate case plans and recovery services for individuals involved with the following Kansas Departments:
• Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS)
• Kansas Department for Children and Families (KDCF)
• Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC)
