Assessment Screening

Kansas Client Placement Criteria (KCPC)

The Kansas Client Placement Criteria (KCPC) is an adaptation of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Patient Placement Criteria which is used nationwide by substance abuse professionals.

The KCPC is used as a tool which guides the assessment counselor in gathering information in six areas of a client's life in order to determine if a substance use disorder exists, and to assist in determining what level of treatment would best meet the client's needs.
